YouTuber Typical Gamer Wants To Buy Fortnite Ballistic Before Epic Games Shuts It Down

Fortnite‘ Ballistic is one of three game modes getting removed by Epic Games, and YouTuber Typical Gamer has publicly offered to purchase it before the shutdown happens. He posted about it on Twitter and said that JOGO, which is a UEFA-based game development company he co-founded with MustardPlays, is willing to buy the mode and keep it running with updates.

Ballistic is currently set to go offline on April 16, 2026, when update v40.20 drops, and that does not leave a lot of time for any kind of deal to happen. Epic has not responded to the offer, and it is not clear if they would even consider selling a mode that still technically runs inside Fortnite, but Typical Gamer clearly thinks the mode is worth saving.

Typical Gamer Believes Ballistic Did Not Get The Chance It Deserved

In his X post, Typical Gamer said that he loves ‘Fortnite‘ Ballistic and that it “didn’t get the chance it deserved” before saying that JOGO is willing to purchase the mode and maintain it and update it going forward.

JOGO is not some random company, either, because it uses Unreal Editor for ‘Fortnite‘ to build Creative Islands that run inside the game, which means they already work within the ‘Fortnite‘ ecosystem and could theoretically treat Ballistic like one of their other projects. That is probably the strongest thing the offer has going for it because if this were any outside studio with no connection to UEFN, the whole idea would be dead on arrival.

The problem is that Ballistic is still a major ‘Fortnite‘ game mode, and Epic may not want to hand that off to anyone, regardless of how qualified they are. Nobody knows if Epic would even entertain an offer like this publicly or if any talks would happen behind closed doors.

The April 16 deadline is real, though, and if Epic wants to consider this, they do not have long to make a decision because players are going to want to know whether the mode is actually going offline or not before that date arrives.

Ballistic Had A Rough Launch And Most Players Dropped It Fast

Ballistic was ‘Fortnite‘s take on a first-person tactical shooter, and Epic clearly built it with games like ‘Counter-Strike‘ and ‘Valorant‘ in mind. The idea of combining Fortnite‘s massive player base with that kind of gameplay sounded like it should have worked, but the reception at launch was mixed, and a lot of players tried it once or twice and never went back. Epic also barely updated it after release, which gave players who were actually grinding the mode very little reason to stick around.

The shutdown is not just about Ballistic, either, because Epic is also removing Festival Battle Stage on the same date, and Rocket Racing is scheduled to go live in October 2026. All of this is happening alongside the recent employee layoffs and the V-Bucks pricing changes, and all of it points to Epic trying to cut costs wherever it can.

If the Typical Gamer’s offer somehow goes through, it opens the door for content creators or outside companies to step in and pick up modes that Epic does not want to run anymore and some fans have already pointed out that the same thing could happen with Rocket Racing or Festival Battle Stage if buyers showed up for those too.
