IShowSpeed’s Cairo IRL stream is easily one of the biggest enigmas of the Speed Does Africa tour, given that it was pulled from YouTube after only a short period after going live.
Many fans were anticipating the Cairo stream as an enormous moment in the trip because Speed made history at the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt by doing an actual live stream inside the pyramid site itself. He appeared considerably more frustrated during the Cairo stream than during earlier stops in Africa, such as those in Ethiopia and Kenya, and this frustration was not subtle and was expressed clearly during the live stream.
As the stream progressed and the day continued, an increasing number of people began gathering around Speed. It was becoming very difficult to continue the live stream safely, as more and more people gathered around Speed.
There was growing concern regarding whether or not the stream could continue and whether intervention from the authorities or organisers in Egypt was necessary, especially given the restrictive laws regarding filming in Egypt.
Why The IShowSpeed’s Cairo Stream Was Removed?
Although YouTube did not provide a definitive explanation for the removal of the Cairo IRL stream from the platform, it is apparent that multiple factors played a role, including regulatory issues, safety issues, and content issues. When it comes to filming in public places, Egypt has strict laws governing how people can film in large urban areas like Cairo, and therefore, authorities tend to avoid situations that may cause greater uncertainty or unpredictability, such as IRL live streaming.
During the course of the stream, Speed struggled significantly with knowing how to obtain necessary approvals, where he could move freely, and was under close evaluation by the authorities, all of which likely raised issues after the stream went live.
As the stream continued to progress, safety concerns became more and more concerning to both Speed and the viewers of the broadcast. Numerous fans of Speed began to gather around him, which made it difficult to maintain an orderly stream and safe surroundings. The intensity of the stream was increasing and thus created a significant risk to both Speed and the team that supported him by continuing to stream live video footage of the event.

As a result, the Cairo stream crossed a line from which earlier Egypt-based streaming did not cross; additional safety concerns resulted in the public posting of live events on YouTube.
