Twitch Receives Backlash After Unbanning HasanAbi In Just 3 Days

After a set of controversial events that took place between HasanAbi and Twitch, there once again seems to be a headline. After getting banned from the streaming platform for the 7th consecutive time, HasanAbi seems to once again be back on the platform after 3 days of ban.

On January 29, 2026, during the middle of his live stream, HasanAbi’s Twitch channel was labelled “temporarily unavailable,” as he was to be temporarily banned due to his previous remarks, such as “rabid ultra-Zionist pigs.” But now, Twitch has lifted the ban and restored his account.

The decision of Twitch to do this in just 3 days did not sit right with many people on the internet, as many do not seem to side with HasanAbi on his political views. This drew a lot of backlash online, as many commented things like “Twitch really is a god d*** joke” and “Twitch is f****** pathetic.” The whole social media, be it X or Reddit, was filled with people raging against Twitch.

While many ain’t happy with the unban, Hasan’s audience viewed his initial ban as suppression of “free speech.”
