Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently revealed he does not think age is going to be a problem for ‘GTA 6’. In an interview with The Game Business, he was asked whether players in their 40s who grew up on Rockstar games will have time to play now that they have kids and careers. His response was that Take-Two makes the “greatest entertainment on Earth,” and he expects everyone to show up.
He also brought up how the company already covers every age group. “Many of our games appeal to all audiences,” he said and pointed to 2K’s ‘NBA‘ and ‘WWE‘ titles. He further said, “Others are specifically tailored at audiences that are 17 and above, for example, GTA.”
Zelnick Used Music As An Example For Why Older Gamers Will Still Show Up

Zelnick was not worried about the players who were teenagers during ‘GTA 4’ and ‘GTA 5’ either. He said, “I think we’re gonna have a lot of 17-year-olds playing GTA 6” and added, “I don’t think there’s any risk of being like, ‘All right, yeah, if I didn’t play five or four or three or two or one, I’m not showing up.’ I think we’ll be able to engage every appropriate individual in GTA 6.”

Furthermore, he brought up music. People stick with what they fell in love with when they were young. You liked certain songs at 17, and you probably still listen to them now. Same thing with games. He stated, “If you fell in love with video games at 17 and you’re 40, guess what? You still do? Play video games.” So in his mind, the audience from 10 or 15 years ago is not going anywhere.
‘GTA 6’ Comes Out On November 19 And Is Expected To Cross $10 Billion In Lifetime Sales

‘GTA 6’ launches November 19, 2026. Marketing is supposed to ramp up over the summer and a third trailer still has not dropped. Leaks have already gotten out about the story length and how big the open world is, though.
The game has been in development for years and that is part of why people keep asking the age question. If it is as massive as everyone expects then actually finding time to get through it is going to be tough for anyone with a job and a family.

As of now, ‘GTA 6’ is expected to make over $10 billion in lifetime sales. Pre-orders have not gone live yet, and nobody knows the price either. Zelnick did not say anything about pricing in the interview. But based on how he talked about it, Take-Two is clearly not treating this as a game for one demographic. They want everybody.
