Pokémon Go: How To Get Sylveon For Free?

Niantic is giving ‘Pokémon Go‘ trainers a free Sylveon encounter through the Very Fairy Timed Research. The limited-time quest is part of the ongoing Go Tour: Kalos celebration and requires no ticket purchase. All players need is a promo code and a few simple tasks.

The research became available on February 19, 2026, and expires on March 2 at 12 AM local time. It was originally tied to the in-person Go Tour events, but the full code has since been shared publicly. Every trainer can claim it regardless of whether they purchased an event ticket.

To unlock the research, trainers must enter the code TH4NKY0UF41RYMUCH on the official Pokémon Go Web Store redemption page. The code cannot be redeemed inside the app. Note that the character after the Y is a numeral zero, not the letter O.

After entering the code, open or restart the ‘Pokémon Go‘ app. The Very Fairy Timed Research will appear under the Events tab when tapping the binoculars icon on the map screen. From there, trainers can begin working through the four steps of the tasks.

What Are The Very Fairy Research Tasks And Rewards?

The research has four stages, each requiring trainers to complete Fairy-themed objectives. Tasks include sending Gifts to friends and earning hearts with a Buddy Pokémon. Completing each step rewards encounters with Fairy-type Pokémon.

Rewards across all four stages include encounters with Spritzee, Swirlix, Dedenne, and Sylveon. Trainers also earn XP, an Incense, a Golden Razz Berry, a Silver Pinap Berry, Sylveon stickers, and assorted Pokémon Candies. Sylveon is the final reward for completing step four.

To speed through the heart-earning tasks, use the Buddy Swap feature. Trainers can swap buddies up to 20 times per day. Feeding, playing, and taking a snapshot provide three quick hearts per swap. This makes it possible to clear each stage in a single afternoon.

Why Is Sylveon Worth Picking Up In ‘Pokémon Go’?

The free Sylveon is more than just a Pokedex filler during Go Tour: Kalos. Its Fairy typing and fast energy generation make it one of the best shield-breakers for Super Mega Raids. These new raid bosses become Enraged and put up multiple shields during battle.

A Mega-Evolved Pokémon can smash through one shield using a Charged Attack. Sylveon charges energy quickly and hits hard against the Dragon, Dark, and Fighting-type bosses common in the Kalos Tour rotation. Having one ready before the Global event on February 28 gives trainers a head start.

Sending Gifts during the event also provides an increased drop rate for Link Charges. These are stored in the new Link Holder and are essential for powering up during Super Mega Raids. Completing the research while farming Link Charges is an efficient way to prepare for the tougher battles ahead.

Trainers who miss this window can still obtain Sylveon by naming an Eevee “Kira” and spending 25 Candy. However, this trick only works once. The standard method requires earning 70 Buddy hearts, making the free research path far easier.
