Nioh 3: Where To Find The Bloodedge Demon?

Of all the bosses in the game, the Bloodedge Demon remains one of the most rewarding in ‘Nioh 3.‘ What makes it even better is the fact that it’s a secret boss. The 4-armed Yokai can spawn at any random location on the open-world map. Not only that, but it also drops some of the best gear in the game.

On the flip side, its location changes every time you reboot the game. The location is also different for every player. To make this even more frustrating, there isn’t a method to track him down. The only method to find him is when a notification appears on the shrine that says a Bloodedge Demon has arrived. To find it, a very unique feature is used.

How To Track The Bloodedge Demon?

Instead of any map markers or quest trails, Nioh 3 uses the revenant mechanic to guide the player to the boss. Most players ignore this feature, making it even harder. So what do you need to do? Well, to find the Bloodedge Demon, you will need to defeat the revenants from red bloody graves scattered across the open world.

Every time you kill one, you can see its soul flying away, and a red arrow appears on the map. You just need to follow that arrow since it is pointing towards the hidden boss. If you defeat enough of them, you will see all the arrows converge at one common point, narrowing down the spot for the hidden boss.

Once you are aware of the overall area, you might finally come across a large purple grave surrounded by smaller red ones. Interacting with this purple grave initiates the boss fight. The players might also be forced to travel to other locations if the shrine notification mentions that the Bloodedge Demon has appeared somewhere else.

The game spans three eras, and the boss can spawn in any of them. Every revenant defeated during the tracking process makes the Bloodedge Demon stronger, but also improves the quality of its loot drops.

How To Prepare For The Fight Against Bloodedge Demon?

The Bloodedge Demon scales to the player’s level and grows more powerful with each revenant killed. The recommended level for this fight is at least 40, though higher is always better. This boss can one-shot players with its overhead slam, where it leans back and brings all four weapons crashing down simultaneously.

Samurai Style is ideal for this encounter because most of the Bloodedge Demon’s attacks can be blocked without heavy stagger damage. Deflecting works even better for players comfortable with the timing. If you use Ninja Style, you can easily do so by staying in mid-range and using Fire Shurikens and Caltrops.

To stop the boss’s lightning and water elemental attacks, you can equip elemental Stop Talismans that match the one you are facing to reduce damage. But you need to watch out for the Burst Attacks when it stays still and gathers energy before releasing an area-of-effect explosion. Just use a Burst Break to counter that.

You can get some pretty rare rewards for defeating the Bloodedge Demon. This includes rare weapons, armor, massive Amrita, and even a Soul Core. You can even set the Core in the Yang Position to summon a Bloodedge Demon to assist you in combat. In the Yin Position, it grants the Carnage Talisman that boosts damage at the cost of defense.

If players die during the fight, they can retry as many times as needed without the location changing. However, rebooting the game resets the spawn point entirely. For an easier time, use co-op through Expeditions at any shrine and combine summoning seals with Ninjutsu to overwhelm the boss with two players.
