Fortnite: When Is the Kingdom Hearts Collaboration Coming?

Fortnite‘ players and ‘Kingdom Hearts‘ fans have been waiting years for these two worlds to collide. According to recent leaks from a prominent dataminer, the ‘Fortnite X Kingdom Hearts‘ collaboration is officially in active development and could arrive within the next few months.

Nothing has been confirmed by Epic Games or Disney yet. However, it is interesting to note that multiple leakers have come up with the same information, and so far, it seems reliable. With Disney’s new billion-dollar partnership with Epic already fueling speculations, this one seems closer than ever before.

Fans got to have a first look at the leaks this Wednesday when a tweet by AdiraFNinfo revealed that a collab might be in the works. But he wasn’t the only one, as others like ShiinaBR and HYPEX quickly backed those same claims, and ‘Kingdom Hearts‘ fans couldn’t be more excited.

Now, players should know that this isn’t the first time that both these games have been talked about in the same breath. Just a few years ago, back in 2024, similar rumors surfaced, but nothing came of them then. But this time things seem to be different. Based on this, most fans and experts believe that players might get this collab sooner rather than later, with a given window of the next 3-6 months.

What To Expect In ‘Fortnite X Kingdom Hearts’ Collaboration?

No official cosmetic details have been revealed, but the speculation is already running wild. A Sora skin feels like a near certainty since he is the face of the franchise. Alternate styles based on his different looks throughout the series would be an easy win for the Item Shop.

A Keyblade pickaxe is the other safe bet. Beyond that, fans are hoping for a Gummi Ship glider and possibly skins for Riku, Kairi, or even fan-favorite Axel. ‘Fortnite‘ tends to include multiple skins in collaborations of this scale, so a single-character drop would be surprising.

There is also chatter about whether Disney characters like Donald Duck and Goofy could appear as outfits or NPCs. Given the existing Disney partnership, nothing is off the table.

Why the Timing For ‘Fortnite X Kingdom Hearts’ Collaboration Makes Sense?

Most telling about why this collab is happening now is the fact that rumors align pretty neatly with Square Enix’s ongoing development on the fourth installment of their smash-hit game. With rumors suggesting that it is also set for a 2026 release, dropping Sora into ‘Fortnite‘ might just be the marketing push that the developer needs to introduce a new generation of kids to the game.

Disney’s expanded ‘Fortnite‘ presence also makes this feel inevitable. Marvel, ‘Star Wars‘, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean‘, and ‘The Incredibles‘ have all had their turn. ‘Kingdom Hearts‘ is one of the few major Disney-adjacent IPs that have not made the jump yet.

With that being said, leaks are still leaks. Previous ‘Fortnite‘ collaborations like ‘Chainsaw Man‘ were rumored to include skins, but initially only delivered a Jam Track. Until Epic Games makes an official announcement, it is worth keeping expectations in check. But all signs point to Sora and his Keyblade finally landing on the island sometime in 2026.
