If you’re looking to accelerate your early game in ‘Black Ops 7 Zombies,‘ unlocking a permanent Double Points trick in Ashes of the Damned is one of the best bonuses you can achieve. It will only apply to melee kills, but there’s enough of a boost to really shove Essence your way, allowing you to get perks, upgrade weapons, and unlock critical map features even earlier than expected.
It’s also not a tricky process to adapt to, and will simply require a miniboss to encounter and a clean melee kill. Here’s how players can claim the Claw Talisman and use x2 points for the remainder of the match.
How To Start The Permanent Double Points Quest

First, you need to obtain Death Perception. The perk machine is located in the Barn at Vandorn Farm, so make sure to activate it early on. Then make your way to one of the fog paths in Ashwood. The paths include the road towards the Crashed Rocket or the Orda Graveyard, which leads to Exit 115.
Once Death Perception is active, be sure to look down towards a glowing bear footprint on the ground. You’ll need to interact with this footprint to start a very short sequence of bear prints that will lead you to the Zursa. Whenever you see a new footprint, be sure to interact with it too. After a few footprints, a cutscene will occur with you being dragged into a separate arena by a Zursa bear.
The HVT Zursa Fight In ‘Black Ops 7 Zombies’

This is a special version of the miniboss called Zursa, and the fight itself adds a twist of difficulty because you can only deal damage using a melee weapon. If you fire a bullet at the bear, you will lose all the dropped rewards.
When the fight begins, your gear is lying on the ground. You should pick it all up right away. Even though your HUD looks empty, picking up your gear will give you back your perks and armor.
From here, the strategy itself is simple: keep the bear close, slide or circle around any incoming attacks, and chip away with your knife or whatever choice in melee you have. If you have a stronger rarity option or a packed option, it will help a lot, so you should enter the site with that available.

If you prefer to get this done without progressing the rounds too quickly, begin the match with Toxic Growth. At Janus Towers Plaza, you should use your Field Upgrade on the green plants, and then use a fumigator against them. They may drop powerful rarity increases, mystery perks, and/or Pack a Punch upgrades. If you can get a max-tier melee weapon by round 10, the Zursa fight is extremely easy.
Unlocking permanent Double Points in ‘Black Ops 7 Zombies’ early drastically changes any run, giving you more Essence than you can get anywhere else and a hefty advantage in Ashes of the Damned, even at Cursed and Standard.
