Originally, the house was owned by Frances and Louis Padilla and was later passed down to Joanne Quitana. Initially, the New Mexico Film Commission said to the Padillas that they would just shoot a pilot. Neither the production house nor the Padillas thought the show would become a phenomenon. It was also reported that the residents of the property used to cater the castand crew.

When the show ended in 2013, it was no longer an ordinary suburban house but “THE” ‘Breaking Bad’ house. Fans from every corner started visiting there. However, it didn’t stop there. Fans used to throw pizzas on the roof to recreate one of the most iconic clips from season 3 of the show. Because of this, the family had to install a six-foot-tall iron fence and security cameras.
