‘Battlefield 6 ‘ fans are in for a treat, as EA has officially announced ‘Battlefield: RedSec‘, the long-rumored battle royale mode that is actually coming to fruition. ‘RedSec‘ will launch on October 28 as a completely free-to-play experience that brings the signature large-scale combat and destruction associated with the ‘Battlefield‘ franchise to the battle royale genre.
By providing players with huge battlefields, squad-based gameplay, and brutal survival mechanics, ‘RedSec‘ aims to take on titans like ‘Warzone‘ and ‘Apex Legends‘ while maintaining the qualities that make ‘Battlefield‘ unique.
What is ‘Battlefield RedSec’?

‘RedSec,‘ which stands for “Redacted Sector,” features ‘Battlefield‘s new take on the battle royale style. Instead of the usual battle royale game, RedSec keeps the Battlefield DNA – enormous maps, destructible environments, vehicles, and team-based gameplay.

Just like most battle royales, players drop in with 100 players on the map and are tasked with surviving, gathering powerful loot, and completing side missions for season bonuses. One of the biggest reasons for the huge excitement around ‘RedSec‘ is that, unlike previous ‘Battlefield‘ BRs, it is free-to-play. Players don’t have to own Battlefield 6, nor do they have to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus to play.
The mode is completely stand alone and will be available on all major platforms through EA Play and the PlayStation and Xbox stores.
When Will ‘Battlefield RedSec’ Release?

‘RedSec ‘officially launches on October 28 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 3 PM UTC, in conjunction with the Battlefield 6 Season 1 update. New players can expect a file size between 50 GB, while those who already have ‘Battlefield 6‘ downloaded will only need around 8 GB of additional space.
What To Expect From ‘RedSec’?

‘RedSec‘ features primarily duo and squad modes, reflecting the fact that teamwork is more important than survival and escaping alone. It will also feature some generic BR features, such as players can revive fallen teammates or allow them to redeploy later in the match.

This is almost recurring theme, because when the zone shrinks, anyone who touches it dies instantly instead of just getting their health slowly drained. Just this game mechanic makes every move and decision seem risky.
Thus far, the launched maps include Eastwood and Blackwell Fields, both having vehicles to traverse the landscape around three dynamic weather effects and destructible terrain. Players will be able to select their class before they jump in and stick with that class for the match. There will be mid-match contracts and missions that can yield powerful loot or the ability to respawn players.
