IShowSpeed has always been vocal about how much he loves anime and ‘One Piece‘ in particular, and it has been a big part of his content for years. The guy just turned 21 earlier this year, and between streaming and his recent WWE run, he has been everywhere lately, and now anime is the next thing.
Speed is getting his own animated series, and the person behind it is Matt Owens, who is the showrunner for Netflix’s live-action ‘One Piece’ adaptation. According to Variety, the project also has filmmaker Harmony Korine and Brian Robbins involved on the production side, and Robbins’ animation company Big Shot Pictures is the studio that will actually be making it.
Matt Owens And Brian Robbins Are Producing The Series With Speed As An Animated Character

There are barely any details on the plot right now. What fans do know from Variety is that Speed is going to be in the show as his own animated character and that a fuller breakdown of the project is coming out soon. Speed talked about it and said, “I’ve always loved anime, so being able to create something like this is a dream come true for me,” and that he thinks the people working on it are talented, and he is excited for fans to see it.
Robbins called Speed “a one-of-a-kind creative force” and said his fanbase reaches across countries and platforms. Robbins ran Paramount before starting Big Shot Pictures earlier in 2026, and the studio already locked down a first-look agreement with Sony Pictures for putting out animated and hybrid films.

The reason people are paying attention to this and not just dismissing it is that Owens is attached, and his work on the ‘One Piece’ live-action is what gives this thing credibility. Speed being a huge ‘One Piece‘ fan and getting the guy who runs that show to produce his anime is not something that happens unless the audience is there to support it, and Speed’s audience is absolutely there.
IShowSpeed Is Also Making His WWE In-Ring Debut At WrestleMania 42

Speed has a lot going on right now in the mainstream media. He has been on RAW for weeks now and has been having issues with LA Knight and The Usos throughout the build toward WrestleMania 42, and it has now been made official that he will be making his in-ring debut at the event. Speed is teaming with Logan Paul and Austin Theory in a Six-Man Tag Match against LA Knight and The Usos, and it will be the first time he has ever wrestled a full match in WWE.
He has had one-off moments before at WrestleMania 40 and the 2025 Royal Rumble. He also trained with Orton for his Speed Goes Pro series on YouTube. But an actual match at WrestleMania is completely different.

Speed has also not been happy about being paired with Logan Paul and Theory, and Danhausen cursed him about two weeks ago, and he has had bad luck since, so there is a real chance things go sideways during the match. WrestleMania 42 is on April 18 and April 19 and will stream on the ESPN App in the US and on Netflix everywhere else.
