Fortnite Is Bringing Back The Endgame LTM

Fortnite OG‘ is getting Season 8 on April 1, 2026, with update v40.10 and two days later, on April 3, the Endgame LTM goes live again. For anyone who was not around during Chapter 1, this was a team-based Marvel mode where one side fought as Earth’s heroes and the other side played as the big purple guy and his army.

It is one of those modes that fans never stopped asking Epic to bring back, and now it is actually happening. Even though the mode is launching alongside Fortnite OG content it is expected to run separately and not on the Chapter 1 map. There is no word on how long it stays up either so the window to play it could be short.

The Mode Splits Players Into Heroes And Villains With Different Win Conditions

The way Endgame works is that the lobby gets split into two groups. The hero side needs to take down the alien soldiers first because doing that stops them from being able to respawn, and once those are gone, the heroes go after the main boss.

The other group is on the villain side; they are scattered across the map looking for the six stones. Once all six are collected, the hero team loses their respawns, too, and it becomes a straight elimination race. The mode always felt like a bigger, messier version of the old large team modes, but the Marvel gear and the win conditions made it feel like something different from anything else ‘Fortnite‘ had at the time.

Epic actually tried a Thanos mode once before this during Season 4. That earlier version was just a normal game where a golden glove spawned on the ground, and whoever grabbed it first became the villain with a massive health pool. It was fun but basic.

Endgame was the one that added real structure to the idea and gave both sides something to actually work toward, which is why it is the version people kept asking to come back. The hero side in the returning version will also have a treasure map item that points to a strong Marvel weapon, and that connects loosely to the pirate theme of Season 8, even though the mode itself does not have anything to do with pirates.

Avengers Blitz Is Already Live For Anyone Waiting On Endgame In ‘Fortnite’

April 3 is not until two days after the season launches, and Epic has already put up Avengers Blitz to fill that gap. Blitz, in general, is a sped-up version of the normal game where the map is smaller and everyone drops in with gear already on them, and matches end fast. The Avengers version throws the Marvel weapons into that format, and it will be up until the next patch. It is a decent way to get a feel for what the Marvel items do before Endgame drops.

Nobody knows when Epic plans to pull the Endgame LTM once it goes live. There is no end date, and Epic has not said anything about how long it runs. The mode lets players take on different roles each game, and it plays differently depending on which side someone ends up on,nkn so getting in early and trying both sides before it disappears again is probably the move.
