The hacker behind the massive 2022 ‘GTA 6‘ leaks apparently got hold of a phone inside a UK prison and is now saying the game’s source code is sitting with someone who has not made it public yet. Arion Kurtaj broke into Rockstar’s internal Slack back in 2022 and leaked early gameplay footage.
According to screenshots posted by Videotechuk_ on X, Kurtaj has been communicating through WhatsApp from prison. In those messages, he said he is surprised the code has not been put out there already.
If The Source Code Gets Out It Could Force Rockstar Into Another Delay

Kurtaj was the one who leaked gameplay clips showing early versions of Lucia and Jason, robbery systems, and weapon mechanics. He was also tied to Lapsus$, the hacking group that went after Uber and Nvidia around the same time period.
But this is not about story spoilers. When ‘GTA 5‘s source code leaked, it led to a flood of cheats and exploits in ‘GTA Online.‘ If the same thing happens with ‘GTA 6‘ before the game even ships, hackers would have months to tear apart the online infrastructure and build tools to break it on day one.
The real concern here is that Rockstar might have to push the game again. ‘GTA 6‘ was originally supposed to release in 2025. That got moved to May 2026, and then pushed again to November 19, 2026. A third delay is not something the community is going to tolerate.

Rockstar is already dealing with union-busting accusations and reports that the studio has been planting fake details internally to try to catch whoever is leaking information.
Players On Reddit And X Say The Game Cannot Take Another Hit Like This

The reaction online has been nervous. People on Reddit and X have been saying that one more delay could do lasting damage to how Rockstar is perceived going forward. The studio has barely shown anything since the first trailer dropped, and repeated delays without real updates have worn down a lot of the goodwill that was built up over the years.

Rockstar has not commented on the source code claims. There is no confirmation that the code is actually out there, and nothing Kurtaj said in those WhatsApp messages has been verified by anyone else. However, this is the same person who had direct access to Rockstar’s systems two years ago and managed to leak real footage from the game. People are not dismissing this.
