‘Fortnite‘ is taking players on a nostalgic journey in the last leg of Chapter 7 with t the OG Wild Week. The whole loot pool is being overhauled. Many players were expecting a quiet end to the season. However, Epic Games shook things massively by also vaulting meta weapons such as Dead Eye AR and Sovereign Shotgun.
This update feels significantly more impactful than the past standard “Wild Weeks,” which usually just unvaulted underwhelming items like shield bubbles or med-mist. ‘Fortnite’ took a bold move to remove meta weapons and unvaulting OG weapons with tweaks.
OG Weapons Return To Fortnite Chapter 7 With Improvements

The biggest change in the new loot pool is the return of the SCAR AR. The weapon has always been labelled as the worst in the game; however, devs have made a few changes to redeem SCAR. They have improved SCAR’s accuracy significantly has much higher headshot multiplier. This will allow players to consistently land shots at medium range without having to stand perfectly still or tap-fire.
Similarly, the Hunting Rifle has also been tweaked. It also has an increased headshot multiplier across the rarity. Players can now easily one-shot opponents with this weapon, making it a high-skill, high-reward weapon for those with steady aim.

Now, coming to the shotguns, the Purple and Gold Pump Shotgun has made its way back. Devs have also poured some love into this weapon. It now has 205 headshot damage for legendary rarityand has 5% faster pull-out time, making it viable for close range duels. Combat Shotgun has also been buffed and has a tighter spread.
‘Fortnite’ Changes How Scoped Weapons Work

One of the major changes in the new update is the fall-off damage of Scoped ARs. Weapons like MK-Seven will now behave like projectile weapons after 100 meters. So, players have to calculate the bullet drop and time their shot to land the hit for long-range snipes.
These changes have been made after the community reported how these weapons can easily deal damage even from long range. With the Dead Eye AR officially in the vault, the Flex SMG becomes the preferred weapon for medium-range spray. Additionally, Flex SMG also got its magazine size increased to 40 rounds to make it more lethal.
Some players also reported that, despite being vaulted, they found common Dead Eye ARs from the guards protecting the Hush boss. Many players, this is an unintentional bug or oversight which devs will fix soon.

As for the loadout, go for the current loot pool. Players can try the reworked SCAR or Flex SMG as their primary weapon. Even though the “OG” theme might feel like recycled content on the surface, the loot pool changes and weapon rework will surely breathe fresh air to the game as it moves to next season.
