Resident Evil Requiem: How To Get Infected Blood?

Infected Blood is one of the most important crafting resources in ‘Resident Evil Requiem.‘ It is exclusive to Grace Ashcroft’s sections and fuels her entire Hemocraft system. Without it, you cannot craft healing items, ammunition, or essential tools like the Hemolytic Injector needed to stop zombie mutations.

Before you can start collecting Infected Blood, you first need to obtain the Blood Collector. This tool is found during story progression inside the Blood Lab, located in the East Wing of Rhodes Hill Care Center. Once you pick it up, blood sources will automatically be marked on your map going forward.

There are three main sources of Infected Blood scattered throughout the Care Center. The most common method is to collect it directly from the zombies you have killed. Walking over a downed enemy with the Blood Collector equipped will soak up between 20 and 30 units of blood per corpse.

The second source is Blood Buckets. These are stationary containers filled with blood placed in various rooms. The Kitchen, where you first encounter the Chef enemy, is one of the earliest locations where you will find them. Each bucket provides around 50 units at a time.

The third and most valuable source is Transfusion Bags. Some zombies in Rhodes Hill walk around attached to IV poles. Defeating these enemies drops a Transfusion Bag that restores between 50 and 70 units of Infected Blood. These are the most efficient pickups in the game, so always prioritize taking down IV zombies when you spot them.

How To Upgrade Your Blood Collector Capacity?

The Blood Collector starts with a default maximum capacity of 100 units. This is enough for most basic recipes like Handgun Ammo and Hemolytic Injectors. However, advanced crafting recipes such as Stabilizers and Steroids require 120 units of blood, meaning you cannot craft them without an upgrade.

To increase your capacity, you can just head to the Parlor in the West Wing and look for the display case on the left side of the room. The Override Manual is available for purchase at the far right of the case. It costs six Antique Coins and boosts your maximum capacity from 100 to 150 units.

After completing the game, you can also unlock the Matsuoka Master Manual from the Special Contents menu for 1,000 CP. This adds another 50 units permanently to all future playthroughs.

Why Infected Blood Matters For Survival?

Infected Blood powers Grace’s entire crafting system in ‘Resident Evil Requiem.‘ Combined with raw materials like Scrap and Rare Metal, it lets you craft Hemolytic Injectors, Med Injectors, various ammo types, grenades, and Molotov cocktails. The Hemolytic Injector alone is critical — it prevents dead zombies from mutating into stronger enemies.

Managing your blood supply efficiently is essential on higher difficulties. Always loot every corpse after combat, never walk past Blood Buckets, and hunt IV zombies whenever possible. Upgrading the Blood Collector early through the Parlor should be a top priority once you have gathered enough Antique Coins.
