ARC Raiders: When Is The Shrouded Sky Update Coming Out?

Embark Studios has confirmed that Shrouded Sky, the fourth major update for ‘ARC Raiders,’ launches on February 24, 2026, across all platforms. The update is part of the game’s Escalation roadmap and brings six pieces of new content to the extraction shooter.

After January’s lighter Headwinds release, the community has been waiting for something more substantial. Shrouded Sky delivers with a new map condition, a new ARC threat, a Raider Deck, a player project, a map update, and the second Expedition window. It is a free content update with no additional purchase required.

What Is The Hurricane Map Condition?

The headline feature of Shrouded Sky is the Hurricane map condition. Similar to Cold Snap’s extreme cold, hurricanes will send thrashing winds and low cloud cover across existing maps. This directly affects movement, combat, and survival topside.

Tailwinds will make players feel fast and nimble. However, fighting against the gales drains stamina quickly and slows movement. Throwables like grenades behave unpredictably, and smoke, gas, and jumping are all affected by the storm’s power.

Wind-blown debris will also cause shields to degrade in the open. The sparking effect makes shielded players more visible to enemies. Going shieldless becomes a tactical option, as low visibility from cloud cover makes it harder for other raiders to spot you.

Is There A New ARC Enemy Coming?

The teaser trailer has sparked community speculation about a new airborne ARC threat. A blinking yellow light that turns red around the 10-second mark caught attention on the ‘ARC Raiders‘ subreddit. Its movement pattern suggests a flying ARC not seen before.

Currently, the Rocketeer is the only major aerial enemy in the game. A second airborne threat would add a vertical dimension to topside encounters. Some players speculate it could be a swarm-type enemy, though Embark has not confirmed any details about its abilities or loot drops.

Shrouded Sky opens the second Expedition window. This is a progression reset that wipes equipment but lets players keep some unlocks and skill points. Players should stockpile Credits before the window opens to strengthen their post-wipe character.

What Else Is Included In The Shrouded Sky Update?

The update also introduces a new Raider Deck, adding a progression layer with passive bonuses or loadout modifications. A new player project gives the community a shared objective to work toward, following the same pattern set by previous major updates.

The Buried City map may also see environmental changes. Shifting dunes could reveal hidden buildings and new loot locations. Familiar maps will have fresh tactical opportunities for experienced raiders looking to shake up their routes.

The teaser quietly revealed that beards are finally being added as a character customization option. With Bungie’s Marathon launching in March, the timing makes Shrouded Sky a critical update for ‘ARC Raiders‘ to maintain its momentum in the extraction shooter space.
