Is Vampire Diaries Coming to Fortnite?

The ‘Fortnite‘ community constantly shares news about the game, with recent clips on TikTok and Facebook listing the same question: “Is The Vampire Diaries coming to Fortnite?” At first glance, an answer like this could seem plausible given that Epic Games regularly brings characters from TV shows, anime, movies, and comics into play on the island. Additionally, there has been a history of supernatural series within the game in the past.

However, any speculation regarding a ‘Fortnite‘ & ‘The Vampire Diaries ‘collaboration is totally unfounded and without any of the credible sources. The reason those screenshots of characters in survivor outfits are being passed around now are entirely fan-created concepts based on concept art or original artwork, as well as one source who has posted about this on social media…but does not appear to be legitimate.

How The Collaboration Rumor Started?

The source of the initial rumor relates back to posts on social media regarding the skins of Damon and Stefan Salvatore being developed. The origin of the rumor was posted by Facebook creator “Incitable”, and it was quickly spread to TikTok, from there, and onto forums. The swift reaction of fans was due to both the popularity of the characters and the fact that they fit in well with Fortnite’s cosmetic style.

Despite the rapid spread of the rumor, there has yet to be any credible confirmation from the usual Fortnite leakers, such as HYPEX and ShiinaBR, both of whom have leaked real collaborations months before they are made public through datamining. The lack of any indication within ‘Fortnite”s game files of the existence of ‘The Vampire Diaries‘ crossover would indicate that a major crossover like this doesn’t typically happen without being included in the game’s code prior to it being announced.

In addition to the lack of credible information supporting the existence of the skins, videos demonstrating what are supposedly the skins began circulating online, many of which receive views due to the belief they are leaked images.

However, most of the clips were AI-generated concept art or fan-made renders. One example from TikTok explicitly stated within the video that the skins demonstrated were created using AI tools, yet it still circulated as “proof” of the existence of Damon and Stefan Salvatore as skins in ‘Fortnite.

Fortnite‘ Creative is also a source of confusion. One example of this is a community map called “TVD Box PvP.” The map contains powers based on the abilities of characters from ‘The Vampire Diaries,‘ such as Damon and Klaus. The map has been posted as actual marketing materials without any context, so many players believe that this content is part of the game.
