Epic Games and their crackdown on cheaters have been the talk of the town for years now. Since their switch to Easy Anti-Cheat as their anti-cheat engine for ‘Fortnite’, the game has seen very few cases of in-game cheating. However, that does not mean that the game doesn’t have cheaters in it.
But Epic Games has taken a strong stance on these cheaters, too. This is shown by their recent legal action against an in-game cheater, banning them not just from the game but also proving that unethical actions lead to dire consequences.
Epic Games Takes Legal Action Against Cheaters

Recently, Epic Games took legal action against an in-game Cheater, who got banned from ‘Fortnite’ and also the ‘Epic Games’ ecosystem. This incident took place on February 6th when a user on X with the username ELVARFN issued a public apology to Epic Games following his ethical practices and the legal action taken by Epic Games.
The cheater has used third-party cheats and carried out multiple DDoS attacks on Fortnite’s servers. The cheater accepted that he caused issues for players and made the overall atmosphere of the game hostile.

Epic Games has not just been banned from ‘Fortnite‘ but all of Epic Games’ services. This fact was accepted by the cheater in his official apology. This has not been the first time Epic Games has done this. They issued a similar Legal action against another cheater in 2025, making them pay $175,000 in fines while also getting the same bans.
