Stone is a really important resource that allows players to build furnaces, which can melt ores to craft weapons and equipment. But with no stones, progress gets hindered, and players are left to use sticks and nothing more.

Fortunately, getting Stone in ‘Terraria Skyblock‘ is not that hard. To get Stone, follow these steps:
- Build a house with a door, torch & a workbench. You can build the structure with either wood for trees or by crafting slime blocks from the blue slimes.
- After building a house, the Merchant NPC will spawn, who will sell you rope for 10 silver coins. Buy as many as you can.
- Craft a gel sword from the slimes and tie the rope to the edge of the island.
- Drop down with the rope until you reach the Cavern layer. (You know you’re at the right location when your surroundings become brown & dark and you can see bats.)
- Build a straight horizontal long platform at least 30 blocks long with either slime blocks or wood. Here, you can run back and forth to spawn Rocky Gray Stone Slimes.
- Killing these slimes will drop you 1-3 stone blocks along with ores and other things. Be careful though, because if these slimes touch you, they’ll give you the debuff “Stoned”.
Since now you have all the stones that you need, you can go ahead and start building you world in the ‘Terraria Skyblock‘ islands!
Are Stones really important in ‘Terraria Skyblock‘?
Long story short, Stones are really important in ‘Terraria Skyblock‘ since without them, you can’t progress towards better material & equipment. Players can use Stone blocks to craft a furnace. Now, there are major benefits to crafting a furnace as it allows you to:
- Craft an anvil
- Smelt Ores
- Use the smelted ores to craft weapons & equipment.
These equipments allows players to build better bases, allows fortification of said bases, explore different terrains and locations, go on dungeon raids, and excel in boss fights. A stick or gel sword can only help you take down slimes.
