Completing the Combat Recon quest in ‘ARC Raiders‘ is one of the first missions that pushes players towards engaging with elite ARC enemies. This quest was introduced by Shani in the Headwinds update and will take you back to the Buried City to scout Bombardier activity before being tasked with taking one down later.
The objectives for this quest are simple, but you may end up delaying your progress due to vague clue locations on where to find the objectives, plus the constant pressure coming from enemies. So, here’s how players can complete the Combat Recon Quest in ‘ARC Raiders.‘
How To Scope Out All Combat Recon Locations?
Start by finding 3 particular covering locations. You will want to go to the Parking Garage. Go up the ramp or look for a transitioning roof to the second or third level of the Parking Garage, and look for the stairs just off the right, and travel up the stairs until you reach the top floor. You will be prompted with an interaction message to mark this as your first scout location.

Next is the center of the map. You will find Marano Park. You will want to go to the west section of the park where the metro entrance is and into an abandoned bus just off the sidewalk closest to the metro entrance; go into the bus and you will see the covering interaction prompt inside the bus.
Last is the Main Street area. You will be looking for the Plaza Rosa area. You will need to go to the westernmost building; you will now need to get to the roof and access the attic space. There is a window looking out over the plaza; after interacting with the window you will have completed the final scout location.
How To Get Spotter Relay And Complete Combat Recon Quest?
To get the Spotter Relay and finish the quest, you need to find the locations of the Spotters and then destroy them. The Spotters are tiny flying robots that are always near some Bombardiers. You can find Bombardiers near the Marano Park, Plaza Rosa, or the Parking Garage, and you will most likely run into Bombardiers while exploring.
When attacking the Spotters, you should use the cover of the buildings that surround them to hide behind. Make sure to only concentrate on the Spotters and not on the Bombardiers, as that will allow you to find your target and destroy them quickly using your heavy weapons. However, you can place yourself in a location that is difficult for the Spotters to see you, like a building or attic.
After you destroy the second Spotter, you will need to loot one of them in order to get the Spotter Relay. You should place the Spotter Relay into your safe pocket, then extract successfully to Shani in Speranza.
