Finding cooling fans in ‘ARC Raiders‘ can be a real hassle. Although you won’t need many for the game, progress will ultimately slow down without those cooling fans. Being rare, they are Technology items that are necessary for Stage 2 of the Expedition Project. As a result, each Raider should expect to find at least five of these unique items.
Unfortunately, the answer is clear: cooling fans do not generally appear in standard chests very often, so opening random buildings with the hope of finding these will simply waste time and ammo. It will be invaluable information for players who want to locate Cooling Fans efficiently.
How Cooling Fans Actually Spawn In ‘ARC Raiders’?

Cooling Fans are a type of Technology Material in ‘ARC Raiders‘ and are primarily used to upgrade your Expedition Project from Core Systems to Framework. With fewer than five cooling fans, you will be unable to progress at all. Cooling Fans are rare loot items, and therefore, it is advisable not to recycle them yet. Keep hold of every one that you collect.

Cooling Fans usually spawn in breachable technology containers. These are not desks or small computer systems. Instead, you should be looking for large server cabinets, electrical lockers, and old computer terminals, which require a breach action to open.
If the container produces noise when it is opened and resembles an industrial piece of technology, you have a greater chance of scoring a Cooling Fan from it than if it did not require a breach. Always prioritize areas marked with Technological or Electronics symbols on the map.
Best Place To Find Cooling Fans In ‘ARC Raiders’

Buried City
The Space Travel Building has high-value loot within the center of the map area, which creates a hazardous level of risk; however, because of its density of Technological Containers, there is no other location with such a high density. There are multiple floors of breaching server cabinets and large computers that are loaded down with cooling fans.
Here are the key areas to scout for Cooling Fans inside the Space Travel Building:
- Level 3 in the southwest section
- Level 4 near the sand behind the elevator
- Level 6 near the breach door and behind the elevators
Thus, you should be travelling through the Vertical Server Terminals on each floor to search for cooling fans. Then, to escape safely after you have finished looting, head to the northwest alleyway between the Space Travel and Parking Garage and the Train Station. Raiding during the Night improves your chances of finding Cooling Fans and reduces player traffic.
Spaceport
Spaceport has some of the best alternative cooling locations if Buried City is highly contested:
Players can focus on:
- Arrival Building
- Departure Building
- Launch Towers
- Control Tower A6
- South Trench Tower and North Trench Tower
The danger is coming from wide-open space and constant ARC patrols. Stay on the outer routes when moving in, breach quickly, and get out before you attract attention.
Dam Battlegrounds
Although Dam Battleground is slower, it’s a good option.
- Research and Administration
- Control Tower
- Power Generation Complex
All of these aforementioned areas are located in high-value loot zones with a high-density ARC presence and feature many active players. In addition, there are many breachable cabinets located in these areas, particularly in the operations rooms.
When you breach into either of these areas, do so with caution: Expect that your breach will create noise, and you should always have somewhere to take cover if necessary.
Stella Montis
Stella Montis has a good frequency of cooling fan spawning; however, the overall danger of this location is at an endgame level. The bottom-level locations with the best odds:
- Assembly
- Assembly Workshop
- Medical Research
- Communications
- Lobby

The upper-level locations, such as the Sandbox and Lobby Metro, also contain Technology loot; however, the presence of Shredder ARCs and player traffic will make them incredibly dangerous and make it unlikely that you will survive. The bottom-level route is now the more efficient option to quickly farm cooling fans due to their relative safety and lower chance of a player encounter.
